10. Niagara Falls, Canada

Niagara Falls is the collective name for three waterfalls on the Canada-US border, the largest of which, Horseshoe Falls, is in Canada. Horseshoe Falls has been the site of all attempts to descend the falls inside a barrel, a feat first performed by Annie Edson Taylor in 1901, who started out on the US side but was carried across the border by currents. She was 63 years old at the time.

    1. She did, with only a cut on her forehead. Then her manager ran off with the barrel and she died poor. But not as poor as she would have been had she never descended the falls. :-)
