14. Anjar, Lebanon
Lebanon's name comes from the Arabic word for yoghurt, due to its resemblance to snow which mountainous Lebanon has in abundance. Also plentiful are snow globes - almost every city, town and monastery has their own. As of 2012, Beirut's National Museum had possibly the best selection (including the above), whilst a souvenir shop on Hamra Street stocked some other rare ones.🔮

10. Niagara Falls, Canada
Niagara Falls is the collective name for three waterfalls on the Canada-US border, the largest of which, Horseshoe Falls, is in Canada. Horseshoe Falls has been the site of all attempts to descend the falls inside a barrel, a feat first performed by Annie Edson Taylor in 1901, who started out on the US side but was carried across the border by currents. She was 63 years old at the time.

8. Cuba
One of Cuba's lesser-known attractions is the Palacio de Valle in Cienfuegos, an ornate Moorish-style mansion and model for the presidential palace in video game Tropico. Formerly a casino, it now operates as a restaurant, bar and souvenir shop. It can be reached by taxi from Havana (about 3 hours away) for around 120 USD.

3. Taipei, Taiwan
Taiwan is the world's largest sovereign state outside the UN. Officially called the Republic of China, the island separated unamicably from the similarly-named-but-different People's Republic of China in 1945, and both governments still claim possession of each other's territories. Due to mainland China's more considerable influence, only 22 countries recognise Taiwan, the largest of which is Burkina Faso.
